Joyful Song

Encouraging young ladies to be joyful in the life God has given them.

The Hopechest

bouquetAre you interested in saving things for when you are older and married?  Well, I am.  I have already started my hopechest, but even if you are older, you can still start saving things.

A hopechest can be a wooden box made especially for being a hopechest, or it can be a cardboard box.  A hopechest is what ever it is that you are saving things in, even if it is a bottom drawer or cabinet.

The 'things' can be anything that you want to save for when you are older or married.  Following is a list of ideas of things that you might want to consider putting in your hopechest.

  • hot pads (also known as pot holders)
  • dish cloths
  • crocheted or knitted blankets, including baby blankets
  • baby clothes
  • special things that were given to you or that you made when you were younger
  • favorite toys or clothes that you would like your future children to enjoy
  • embroidered sheets, dish towels, or any other household linens

Psalm 5:11

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You.
