Book List 

Here is a list of books that I have read and recommend:

Some of the books have "reviews" that I have written to tell you what the story is about, but if the book doesn't have a "review", it's just because I haven't put one on here yet.  I have also put a recommended age level (more for content and comprehension than for the reading level).  Also, not all of them are books that you just sit down and read.  One of them is a cookbook.

The Bible - All Ages

 The following books were written by the Castleberrys:

-Waiting for Her Isaac
This story is about 16 yr. old Beth.  It tells of her wait for the person that the Lord would have her marry, and also of her courtship. About 12 and up

-The Courtship of Sarah McLean
Sarah is 19 and longing to get married.  In this story you will read of her courtship and about how she learns to trust the Lord. 12 and up 

-Journey of the Heart 12 and up

The Elsie Dinsmore Series by Martha Finley
I am referring to the old, original books here, not the "Life of Faith" series.  I have not actually read the whole series yet, but the ones I have read are really good.

At the beginning of this series, Elsie (the main character) is 8 yrs. old.  She is an heiress to her mother's wealth, but does not know either of her parents.  Her mother died shortly after Elsie was born and her father was away in Europe.  Elsie loves the Lord, reads the Bible often, and is always striving to follow the Lord.  She takes her relationship with the Lord seriously and is an excellent example as to how a Christian should live.

The first two books are good for younger girls and older girls alike.  But, the 3rd+ are more for older girls (maybe 12+), because not all the content is for younger girls.

The Words You Should Know by David Olsen
This book is similar to a dictionary, however, it has select words that you should know (not just every single word in the English language).  It has the definition, pronunciation, use in a sentence, and part of speech for each word.  All Ages

Whole Foods for the Whole Family - Published by La Leche League International
This is a cookbook that I highly recommend!
